a colourful enigma

a colourful enigma

i saw green yesterday,
and red the day before yet black the year before,
if black didn't emerge,
i will never see red,
and if i didn't see red,
i wouldn't be seeing green yesterday.

and if i didn't see red,
i wouldn't be seeing how beautiful you are,
then i could never see the gem in you,
if it's not because of black.

i don't ever want to be colour blind anymore,
as colours are my life,
something so precious to me,
as i could not afford to lose you no more.

i wish i could tell you how special you are,
yet gold has not come to me,
i'm afraid of losing you,
for that i shall keep you in sight,
i hope that you will approach my heart,
yet you may think of the same,
or maybe fate is all about.

i pray beneath the moonlit bed,
for you to see the colours i saw,
to solve my eye for one,
now a rainbow is what i see,
i hope you will declare the colour i see.

To me, this poem really reflects what you're feeling in an imagery sort of way. Heh, I know poems are meant to reflect how you feel. But it's kinda good that you managed to show how you feel so creatively. =p=p

Fantastic stuff- well, that's putting it lightly...
I liked this one the best, I'd have to say. Colours are so important in interepretations of, well, everything! Essays, Stories, Songs, Paintings... would be dead without colour! No suppression of emotions, your poem truly allowed for some insight into what you feel! great stuff!!!
Well, I know for a fact that most poets and writters hate it when other people try to analyse their works, but can it be that you're talking about life and how you'd never reach a state of happiness unless you've been subject to worse times? Just a thought for all of us to ponder on, eh? Just shows us how insightful it is!
